| The Death of Tom Mulvehill |

A Piper is down! My friend Tom Mulvehill from Des Moines, Iowa has passed away at the young age of 39, last Saturday April 12th. Tom was a grand Piper, and an even finer gentleman. He was the past Pipe Major for the "Iowa Scottish Pipes and Drums", and was well respected and admired by all who knew him in the "Pipes and Drums" community. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
You shall forever remain in my heart and memory. Slainte, my dear friend.

WE WON! Yep, we won the Shriners Midwest Nationals Pipes and Drums Competition. Congratulations to my fellow bandmates. This is only the second time in 40 years an American Band has beaten the Canadians.
Now, here is the deal. I made a bet with the rest of the Band that if we could pull this off and win, that I would lose the ponytail. So, as soon as I can get pictures of the dastardly deed, I will post them on the website. Once again congratulations to the Zor Shrine Pipes and Drums Band.

Back from an exciting week in Milwaukee at the Milwaukee School of Pipes and Drums, held at Alverno College. What a wonderful school put on by Mr. Tom Cobb. This year's concert on Thursday evening, was dedicated to the memory of Tom's dearly departed wife Kathleen "Kay" Cobb.
A good time was had by all, and what superb instructors we had. All of whom were very congenial, entertaining, and helpful at all times. Looking forward to next year.
Some pictures available in Photo section.
Slainte,
Mich
